Violinist Cassandra Bequary has been sharing her passion and enthusiasm for music with audiences and communities worldwide since an early age. Her diverse musical endeavors range from appearances at Carnegie Hall under esteemed conductor Robert Spano, to working closely beside artists from internationally renowned ensembles such as the Emerson, Takács, and Ives quartets. Ms. Bequary has appeared as a soloist with orchestras throughout the United States, making her solo debut at the early age of 10 in her home state of Connecticut. She has since gone on to perform as a soloist with ensembles including the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra and the Oberlin Baroque Ensemble.

A charismatic chamber musician, Cassandra currently enjoys performing with ensembles including One Found Sound, Elevate Ensemble, Phonochrome, Wild Rumpus, Magik*Magik Orchestra, and Karl Cronin's Americana Orchestra. From 2010 through 2012, she was an active performer in the San Francisco Conservatory of Music's chamber music program, and in 2011, she co-founded Friction Quartet, a collaborative contemporary ensemble. Ms. Bequary has also performed at the International Festival at Round Top, Apple Hill Chamber Music Festival, Mendocino Emerging Artist Series, Eastern Music Festival, Thy Masterclass, and Hot Springs Music Festival, where she was awarded first prize in the 2011 chamber music competition.

She earned her Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where she studied both modern and baroque violin with Marilyn McDonald. Simultaneously, her love of English literature drove her to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from Oberlin College's prestigious double degree program. While completing her Masters of Music at the San Francisco Conservatory, Cassandra studied with Ian Swensen, Mark Sokol, and Catherine Van Hoesen.

In addition to performance, Cassandra is equally devoted to educational outreach. She has participated extensively as mentor and coach with various youth orchestras, schools, and festivals throughout the United States, including, in the Bay Area alone, Hamlin Music Academy, Myriad Music School, Ruth Asawa School of the Arts, and Peninsula Youth Orchestra. She currently enjoys working with a private studio, ages 3 through adult, at home in San Francisco.
